Who can participate in the HIE?
The HIE is open to a broad range of organizations across Iowa's healthcare ecosystem: hospitals, health systems, federally qualified health centers, rural health clinics, independent practices, behavioral health and substance use disorder providers, payers, public health agencies, emergency medical services, and social care organizations. Expanding participation to rural providers, behavioral health organizations, and social care partners is a core priority for Converge Health Iowa.
How do I become a participant?
Contact us to get started. Participation requires execution of a Participation Agreement and Business Associate Agreement. Our team will walk you through technical onboarding and help identify which services best fit your organization's workflows.
What data does Converge Health Iowa need from us for full participation?
Full participation includes submission of USCDI V3 data elements from your clinical systems. Common methods include ADT feeds, continuity of care documents (CCDs), and other structured clinical data. However, we understand that not every organization will be in a position to submit data the same way. Data may also be submitted via CSV or other formats depending on your systems and capabilities.
Specific elements, formats, and timelines are defined during technical onboarding. We will meet you where you are and document a phased approach that reflects your organization's technical starting point.
