Participation in the HIE
The HIE is open to a broad range of organizations across Iowa's healthcare ecosystem: hospitals, health systems, federally qualified health centers, rural health clinics, independent practices, behavioral health and substance use disorder providers, payers, public health agencies, emergency medical services, and social care organizations.
Expanding participation to rural providers, behavioral health organizations, and social care partners is a core priority for us.

Data Needed for Full Participation
Full participation requires submission of USCDI v3 data elements from your clinical systems, including ADT feeds, continuity of care documents (CCD), and other available data. Specific elements, formats, and timelines are defined during technical onboarding. If your organization is not yet in a position to submit a full dataset, we will document a phased approach that reflects your technical starting point.
Cost to Participate
Converge Health Iowa's participant fee structure is being finalized in coordination with Iowa HHS and informed by a statewide gap analysis. To reduce barriers to onboarding, many participating providers will have access to core HIE services at no cost for the foreseeable future. Details about fee offsets will be communicated in the coming weeks.
