Health Information Exchange
At the core of the HIE is a unified platform that connects patient records across organizations, routes and translates data from connected systems into a common format, and stores a longitudinal clinical history for each patient. When a provider queries the HIE, they see a single, consolidated view of that patient's care -- regardless of where it was delivered or what system recorded it.
A secure, web-based portal enabling authorized providers to search and retrieve shared patient records, including encounter data, clinical summaries, lab results, medications and reports across all participating organizations.
also available as Single-Sign-On
EMR Data Integration
Our record locator service identifies where patient records exist across participating organizations and retrieves available clinical data in response to a query. Patient matching is handled through a master patient index, enabling a consolidated view of a patient's history across the network.
Includes access to eHealth Exchange.
Automated notifications that alert care teams when a patient is admitted, discharged, or transferred, enabling timely follow-up and reducing readmissions. Alerts are generated based on participant-defined patient panels.
Automated submission of electronic lab reporting, and syndromic surveillance data to state and federal agencies, reducing manual effort and ensuring compliance.
A HIPAA-compliant messaging service enabling encrypted, provider-to-provider communication, eliminating reliance on unsecured email and fax for protected health information. HISP services integrate with EHR systems.
Support for Social Care Data Exchange
An integrated referral platform connecting providers with community organizations to address social determinants of health.
Privacy & Consent Management
The HIE operates under a defined set of data sharing policies and participant obligations that ensure compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and Iowa Code Chapter 135D. Consent is managed at the HIE level, giving organizations confidence that data is accessed and shared appropriately across the network.
