THE CONVERGE CONNECTION News from Converge Health Iowa
August 20, 2026
In this update, we welcome our newest participant, Ringgold County Hospital; share a final reminder to complete our statewide data-needs survey; preview a September Lunch & Learn on the Image Exchange platform; celebrate a 58-facility Syndromic Surveillance go-live; and round up the conferences where you can find us this fall.
PARTICIPANT NEWS Welcome Aboard
Please join us in welcoming our newest participant to Converge Health Iowa: Ringgold County Hospital, a 16-bed critical access hospital in Mount Ayr. Thank you for trusting us to meet your health data needs.
SURVEY REMINDER Help Shape the Future of Health Data in Iowa
Following our statewide roadshow, Converge Health Iowa is working with State leadership to build Iowa's Health Information Exchange roadmap – and we need your input. Our short survey centers on one question: what health data does your organization need most? Your feedback will directly influence the platform we build to advance whole-person care and seamless data interoperability across Iowa.
SURVEY DETAILS
Time: ~10 minutes – the survey adapts to show only the questions relevant to your facility type and role.
Who should respond: Multiple leaders and staff from each organization are encouraged to participate.
Privacy: Results are reported only in aggregate; individual responses will not be published.
Deadline: Please complete the survey by Friday, August 21.
SEPTEMBER LUNCH & LEARN
A Deep Dive Into Image Exchange
Join us in September for a deep dive into Image Exchange, our new service coming soon from eHealth Technologies – that gives providers across our network secure, seamless access to diagnostic-quality medical images.
For a provider in the community, it means a complete picture of a patient's imaging history without the wait. Instead of tracking down a CD in the mail or rescheduling a visit because prior studies aren't available, you can view relevant images ahead of a care event – reducing delays, eliminating unnecessary repeat scans, and supporting faster, better-informed clinical decisions. Join us to see how it works.

PUBLIC HEALTH REPORTING
Another Major Milestone Across Iowa
This month, healthcare facilities statewide officially went live on Syndromic Surveillance. Chief complaint and encounter data from emergency departments now flows to public health agencies, including the CDC, in near real time – easing the manual reporting burden on staff.
That means faster detection of outbreaks, clearer visibility into illness trends, and a quicker public health response across Iowa and beyond. A heartfelt congratulations and thank-you to all 58 partner facilities and the teams who made this happen. We are continuing to evaluate additional participants pending CDC go-live and onboard them as quickly as possible.
